Dr. DeCola was raised in Gonzales, TX and grew up on the Guadalupe River where she learned to swim, fish, and ski and of course developed a love for the outdoors and wildlife. Growing up in the country she rescued and raised a variety of animals. Kristen graduated from Gonzales High School and went to Texas A&M in College Station and graduated with honors in Biomedical Science in 2004. She then obtained her doctorate receiving Cum Laude honors in 2008 from Texas A&M with Dr. Rierson.
Upon graduation she moved to New Braunfels and began working at the Emergency Pet Clinic where she quickly rose to become the New Braunfels liaison and chief veterinarian. She married her high school sweetheart Jarrett and they have a daughter Lillian. Dr. DeCola missed seeing her family at night and decided to change to day practice to both better family quality life and learn a different aspect of veterinary medicine.
She believes client communication is crucial and strives to provide quality medicine and treat each patient with the love and patience that she would use with her own.
Dr. DeCola currently has two cats named Taco and Joey Peanut as well as a Shih Tzu named Lucy.
